What I Design: FUI, Screen Graphics and Motion for Film, TV and Beyond

I design the screens, HUDs and holograms that help a story build its world. Most of that work lives in feature films and television: fictional user interfaces (FUI) that have to read in a split second on camera, feel embedded in the set, and still hold up when the lens pushes in.

FUI and HUD design

Heads-up displays, targeting systems and cockpit graphics. On Disney's Tron: Ares I was GFX Motion Director for the UI team led by GMUNK and Jayse Hansen, covering HUDs, holograms and screens throughout the film.

Screen graphics for film and television

Wall screens, monitors and control rooms that sit in the set and play back on the day or get composited after. That includes the retro TVA monitors in Marvel Studios' Loki (Seasons 1 and 2), the CADDIS HQ mission screens in Amazon's Butterfly, and screen work on Black Adam, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Deadpool & Wolverine.

Holograms and motion

Animated holographic elements and motion systems, from Atlantean war-room holograms to web-slinger and Big Hero 6 interface animations made with Jayse Hansen's designs.

Beyond the screen in the film

The same thinking carries into title sequences, real-world interfaces, rides, games and live-event screens: Hyundai's 4D ride, Bungie's Marathon, Lap of Legends and the Perplexity spot are a few examples on the Commercial page.

If you're building a world that needs screens, let's talk. Contact
